Founder's Journey
I'm Adesuwa Jo Campbell, a proud Torontonian with roots in Barbados and Grenada. My name, Adesuwa, means “In the midst of progress or prosperity,” reflecting my journey and deep African heritage.
With a background in Office Administration, Travel and Tourism, and Social/Human Services, I've cultivated a broad perspective. Founding EMPRESNG is a personal mission to celebrate and uplift African culture. As a mother of three and grandmother of two, I'm dedicated to connecting cultures through authentic, handmade creations by BIPOC artists.
My passion for food, travel, and community building drives my commitment to in-person interactions. Transformative trips to Nigeria and Ghana inspired my desire to share the beauty of the Motherland. Despite challenges, my belief in hard work and determination keeps me going.
EMPRESNG is more than a business; it’s a legacy for my family and a platform to showcase African talents. Our NaJhoKeDa home décor line honours this legacy. Founded in 2020, EMPRESNG has evolved from a humble start at the Pickering Flea Market to a thriving cultural boutique.
Join us in celebrating the richness of African culture through our curated collections. Experience the extraordinary journey of cultural discovery with EMPRESNG.
