Our Story

Rooted in Africa. Made for the World.
I’m Adesuwa Jo Campbell, Torontonian by birth, Afro-Caribbean by blood, and deeply inspired by my African heritage. Adesuwa, meaning “in the midst of prosperity,” reflects not just my name, but the journey that led me to create EMPRESNG, a movement born from culture, community, and craftsmanship.
With a rich background in human services and global travel, I’ve always been drawn to people, purpose, and the power of storytelling. Through EMPRESNG, I honour the spirit of the Motherland, bringing together ethically sourced, handcrafted creations that embody Africa’s soul and beauty.
What started in 2020 at a small flea market has grown into a bold cultural boutique. From the artisan markets of West Africa, our curated pieces reflect tradition, resilience, and elegance.
Our signature NaJhoKeDa home décor line, named in tribute to my family, showcases Afrocentric excellence. Each item is made by skilled artisans whose work deserves a global spotlight.
At EMPRESNG, we’re more than a boutique. We are a celebration of legacy. A bridge between continents. A call to honour Africa’s artistry, one handcrafted piece at a time.
Handcrafted for the Cultured.
