I’m Adesuwa Jo Campbell. Torontonian by birth. Afro-Caribbean by blood. Called home by Africa every single day.

My name, Adesuwa, means “in the midst of prosperity.” I didn’t choose that meaning. I grew into it. And it became the seed that grew into EMPRESNG, a movement born from culture, community, and craftsmanship.

I’ve spent my life drawn to people, purpose, and the stories we carry in our hands. A background in human services. A life shaped by travel. A heart that never stopped listening for the Motherland. EMPRESNG is where all of that lives now, in every ethically sourced, handcrafted piece we bring into the world.

This didn’t start in a boardroom. It started at a flea market table in 2020, with a dream and a belief that Africa’s artistry deserved a bigger stage.

Since then, that table has grown into a bold cultural boutique. Every piece we carry is pulled from the artisan markets of West Africa, where tradition runs deep, resilience is woven into every thread, and elegance is never an accident.

Our signature NaJhoKeDa home decor line carries my family’s name, and with it, generations of pride. Every carving, every bead, every hand that touched it deserves to be seen. Not just sold. Seen.
